Lunenburg-Verna Phyllis (St. Pierre) Picard, 88, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at her home.
Verna was the daughter of the late Joseph and Siama (Kask) St. Pierre and loving wife of the late Arthur Raymond Picard.
She was born in Fitchburg on February 5, 1929 and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1947. Along with being a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker, Verna was a talented seamstress who also enjoyed reading and gardening.
Verna leaves two sons, David A. Picard and Thomas R. Picard both of Lunenburg and two daughters, Marianne Fornataro and her husband Michael of Ocean Township, NJ, and Cheryl Gadoury and her husband Thomas of Clifton Park, NY along with six grandchildren, Nicole White, Renee Schultz, Krisann Gadoury, Laura Picard, Carrie Wholley and Andrew Fornataro and five great-grandchildren, Ava Schultz, Zella and Patrick White and Aubriana and Landon Fornataro. Verna also leaves one sister, Ruby St. Pierre of Fitchburg.
Verna was predeceased by a brother, Joseph St. Pierre and two sisters, Lillian Moran and Claire Raposa.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the North Cemetery, Lunenburg, MA.
