Obituary

Westminster-Russell Allen Levin, 84, died Sunday, July 16, 2017 at UMass Memorial Medical Center, in Worcester, after an illness.

His wife of 57 years, Donna (Wheeler) Levin, died November 28, 2012.

Russell leaves one son, Scott A. Levin of Westminster; one daughter, Kim Kulczyk and her husband Randy of Gardner; five grandchildren, Shauna Kulczyk, Jennie Kulczyk, Sarah Kulczyk, Gretchen Kulczyk and Camden Kulczyk; five great-grandchildren, Makala, Jazzlyn, Elsie, Valeska, and Colton; one sister, Jeannie LeTellier of Templeton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Russell was born in Gardner, on December 25, 1932 a son of the late Walter and Jenny (Ekorre) Levin. He was a graduate of Gardner High School and of Boston College with an Engineering degree. He worked as an Engineer for Acton Environmental Testing and also for National Technical Systems.

He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening and just truly loved the outdoors. He and Donna spent their winters in Florida. Russell could be seen many mornings holding court at the coffee shop, fixing all of the town’s problems with the other gentlemen in town.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Knower and Ellis Roads, Westminster, MA 01473.

There are no calling hours.

The Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Westminster has been entrusted with Mr. Levin’s funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Russell’s name to the Heywood Hospital Aid Fund, 242 Green Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
