Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother
Westminster-Rita D. (Daigle-Callahan) Sullivan, 98, died Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Heywood Hospital after an illness.
Her husband Edmund J. Sullivan Sr. died on March 15, 1992.
Rita leaves two sons, Edmund J. Sullivan Jr. of Gardner, David Sullivan of Englewood, FL; her twin daughters, Lorraine Kaack of St. Petersburg, FL and Linda Rogers of Westminster; seven grandchildren, Kristen Sullivan, Stacey Sullivan, David Rogers, Elicia Blackhurst, Craig Starratt, Blake Sullivan and Isabel Sullivan; five great-grandchildren, Brooke Richards, Dylan Richards, Elaina Blackhurst, Finn Blackhurst and Quinn Rogers.
Besides her husband, she is also predeceased by five brothers, Earle Daigle, Elliott Joseph Daigle, Austin Daigle, Benoit Daigle and Elmer Daigle and one sister Marie Norris.
Rita was born in Prince Edward Isle, Nova Scotia, Canada on November 22, 1919
Rita worked for Stop & Shop grocery stores as a secretary. She had lived in St. Petersburg from 1992 after her husband died and returned to Westminster in 2008. While in Florida she was a very active member of St. Rafael’s Church. She was also a very active community volunteer. Rita was a very accomplished artist and she loved to paint. Most of all she loved her family, who will miss her very much.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 12 Noon in the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Westminster, MA 01473.
Burial will be in the Woodside Cemetery, 9 Narrows Road, Westminster, MA 01473.
A calling hour will be in the funeral home from 10:30 – 12 Noon prior to the funeral services.
