Westminster - Alphee J. Maillet, 67 died Friday, July 14, 2017 surrounded by his loving family and friends at Leominster Hospital after an illness.
He was born on July 18, 1949, in St. Norbert, New Brunswick, Canada, a son of the late Edouard and Elmina (Babineau) Maillet. Alphee leaves his wife of 43 years, Joanne (LeBlanc) Maillet; one daughter, Monique Maillet (Robert Bourque) of Gardner; one granddaughter, Liliana Sabettini of Gardner; fourteen brothers and sisters Loretta Allain (late Laurie), Rezeda Maillet (late Alias), Louise Gautreau (late Gerald), Jeannita Boucher (Leo), late Leandre Maillet, Octave Maillet (Therese), Jean Maillet (Odette), Marguerite LeBlanc, Emilienne Bastarache (late Eric), late Yvette LeBlanc (Raymond), Florence LeBlanc (Romeo), Romeo Maillet (late Paul), Stella Carlson (late Albert) and Simonne Maillet; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He served in the US Army as a Sergeant, during the Vietnam War. Alphee worked as a mason for many years and forklift driver for Aubuchon Hardware in the Westminster warehouse where he retired in 2014.
Alphee was a dedicated member of St. Edward the Confessor Church. He was member of the Teamsters Local 170. He loved the outdoors, going to the casino, NASCAR. He was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. He was a kind, generous and loving man. His family was the most important part of his life, and he so loved spending time with his granddaughter.
Calling hours will be at Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 p.m.
Alphee's funeral will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017, from the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Westminster, MA 01473, followed with a mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 10 Church Street, Westminster, MA 01473.
Burial will follow with military honors at 11:00 a.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA 01475.
