Westminster-Tomasa “Tammy” (Reyes) Zelaya, 79, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
Tammy was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico on March 12, 1942, a daughter of the late Juan Reyes and Luz Maria Martinez. She was the beloved wife of the late Ramon Zelaya who passed away in 2019.
Tammy was a resident of Westminster for the past 45 years. She held a master’s degree in Psychology from the Springfield School of Human Services in Springfield, MA. Tammy worked for many years as a guidance counselor in the Worcester school system. She was an avid reader, loved animals and especially enjoyed time spent with her beloved family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Tammy was the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews whose lives she greatly touched. She is also survived by her siblings, Joaquina Martinez, Cristobalina Rivera, Paula Class, Jose Martinez, Miguel A. Martinez, and Evelyn Martinez. She also leaves behind many beloved friends and acquaintances. In addition to her husband and parents, Tammy was predeceased by her brother Felix Martinez.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 11:00am in the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Westminster, MA 01473.
A calling hour will be held in the funeral home from 10:00 – 11:00am prior to the funeral.
Burial will follow at 12:00pm in the Woodside Cemetery, 9 Narrows Road, Westminster, MA 01473.
