Lunenburg- Thomas J. Davis, 75, of Lunenburg, died peacefully Thursday evening, July 22, 2021 in the Highlands of Fitchburg after a long illness.
Thomas was born in Boston on March 16, 1946 a son of the late William J. and Margaret C. (Buttomer) Davis. His beloved wife Mary Louise (Callahan) Davis pre-deceased him in 2019.
Thomas worked many jobs when he was younger but working for the Boston Herald was his favorite, however his illness forced him to retire young. He loved his family, his dogs, Irish music, Johnny Cash, and the Irish culture. He had a passion for reading and was an ardent supporter of the Boston Fire Department (BFD). Although at times he had physical difficulties, he remained strong willed and always saw the bright side.
Thomas will be greatly missed by his two children, Sean M. Davis of Lunenburg and Danielle M. Woods and her husband Robert of Lunenburg; three grandchildren, Heather Watt, Matthew Woods and Andrew Woods; one brother, Jerimiah Davis; two sisters, Patricia Kerry and Betty Marchesi; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Thomas was predeceased by one son; Thomas J. Davis; one brother, William J. Davis; and one sister, Margaret C. Barletta.
You are invited to attend visiting hours in the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 763 Massachusetts Ave. Lunenburg, on Friday July 30,2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00PM. His funeral will be held in the funeral home immediately following. Burial will be private. A celebration of life reception will be held after the funeral services, address to be provided upon request.
