Townsend-Stephen M. Hanley, 59, formerly of Lunenburg and Fitchburg, died peacefully early Sunday morning April 11, 2021 in Nashoba Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Stephen was born in Fitchburg on March 21, 1962, a son of Judith A. (Caefer) Flynn and the late James Hanley.
Stephen is a 1980 graduate of Fitchburg High School. He grew up in Fitchburg attended Fitchburg Schools and moved to Lunenburg and eventually Townsend. Stephen loved fishing and hunting.
Stephen will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Judith A. (Caefer) Flynn; sister in-law, Vanessa Hanley; one nephew, Travis Hanley and his wife Katelyn and many great-nieces and nephews. Stephen was predeceased by his father, James Hanley and his brother Scott Hanley.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
The Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 763 Massachusetts Ave., Lunenburg has been entrusted with the care of Stephen’s arrangements.
