WORCESTER – Nancy Marie (Patterson) Smithburger, 73, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in St. Mary Health Care Center, Worcester, MA.
Nancy was born on September 24, 1948, a daughter of the late LeBaron Botsford and Mary Ruth (Thibodeau) Patterson. She was born and raised in Lynn, MA where she attended Lynn English High School and graduated class of 1966.
Nancy worked for over 35 years at Sears as a Customer Service Representative. During her time working for Sears, she made many lifelong friends. As a social butterfly, Nancy was known for forming friendships everywhere she went, from PTO meetings, church, and the line at Market Basket! In addition to being a hard worker and wonderful friend, she was a very caring and loving mother. Nancy especially cherished every moment of being a grandmother and was affectionately called “Nani.”
She was the caretaker of many and loved being around children and the elderly. Nancy was most recently a communicant of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church where she attended many functions. She was known for her bold and honest opinion and was not shy of sharing what was on her mind. Nancy loved dancing and being near the ocean. She and her former husband William purchased land in Woodstock, ME where she would vacation living off the grid and enjoying the outdoors.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Heidi Fedorczuk and her partner, James Corrao and their three children, Levi Fedorczuk, Luke Fedorczuk and Annabelle Corrao of Worcester, MA; two sisters, Jeanne Patterson of Lynn, MA and Elaine Patterson-Fontaine and her husband, Jim of Townsend, MA; her cousin, whom she loved like a brother, John Thibodeau of Marblehead, MA; former husband, with whom she spent many great years, William Smithburger of Leominster; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
