Fitchburg - Martha Jean (Sanders) Quinn, 81, died Friday, January 29, 2021 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol after an illness.
Martha leaves two sons, Gilbert Sanders and his wife Shelley of Fitchburg and Jerry F. Riffle of Clarksburg, WV; one daughter, Loretta Quinn Watson of Ocala, FL; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Earletta Weaver of Clinton, Mary Tracey of Clarksburg, WV,
as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Talkington and Francis Dunbar and her late husband’s, Samuel Fiffik and Okey Quinn.
She was born in Terra Alta, WV on June 21, 1939 a daughter of the late Earl Darwin and Mary Opal (Mason) Sanders. In her younger years,
Martha worked as both a short-order cook and Nurse's Aide in Clarksburg, WV.
She enjoyed family vacations to visit loved ones in West Virginia, as well as crocheting and needlepoint with the lovely ladies from her local
church group.
Martha’s funeral services will be private on February 10, 2021 in the Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli and the Fitchburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 243 Water Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
