Fitchburg-Louse M. Richard, 90, a longtime resident of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, September 21, 2021 at The Highlands Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fitchburg.
Louise was born in Fitchburg, MA on August 10, 1931, a daughter of the late Joseph and Yvonne (St. Laurent) Richard.
Louise was a graduate of St. Bernard High School class of 1949. She worked for over 32 years for the United States Military, both in Germany and at Fort Devens, MA, before retiring at 55 years old. She was a longtime communicant of St. Bernard’s Parish as well as St. Joseph’s Parish. Louise loved to travel and saw much of the world in her lifetime. In her spare time, she loved to shop, especially for the stylish clothing that always made her the “fashionista” at any event. Family was always very important to Louise.
Louise will be lovingly remembered by her two brothers, Philip Richard of Fitchburg, MA and Gerard Richard and his wife Sis of Leominster, MA; one sister, Yvette Damien of Houston, TX; and many, many nieces and nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Louise was predeceased by her four sisters, Evelyn Doucette, Pauline Fusco, Rita Provencher and Lucille Reilly.
A memorial visitation will be held in the Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 243 Water Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420 on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 9:30am to 10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Bernard Parish at St. Camillus de Lellis Church at 11:00am. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery with her parents will be private.
