BUZZARDS BAY – Judith D. Orava, 84, a former resident of Westminster, MA, passed away on Wednesday, March 30th in Keystone Place in Buzzards Bay, MA.
Judith was born in Fitchburg, MA, on November 04, 1937, daughter to Eino and Martha (Makela) Heisson.
Judith grew up in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School. She went to work at Crocker Burbank, a paper company, where she met her husband. They married and built the home of their dreams on Wyman Pond in Westminster. Shortly after they had their son, Timothy, whom she spent her focus on, in a neighborhood filled with close knit friends and children.
After raising her son, she began her professional career rising into the role as a VP of Marketing, in the computer industry, originally working for Digital Equipment Corporation, which later became Compaq and was eventually merged into HP. During this time, May 1990, she earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Boston University.
She was a great, loving mother who also held roles as a Cub Scout Den Leader and Sunday School Teacher. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, singing, and going to their summer home in Sagamore Beach on Cape Cod. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Judith was predeceased by both of her parents, as well as her beloved husband of 46 years, Lauri A. Orava, in 2012.
Judith will be lovingly remembered by her son, Timothy J. Orava and his wife Kelli of Sagamore Beach, and two grandchildren, Chase and Magnus.
You are invited to attend a calling hour on Friday, April 08, 2022, from 10 – 11 AM in the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 123 Main Street, Westminster. Her Funeral will be held inside the funeral home following visitation at 11:00 AM.
Burial will take place following her service at Woodside Cemetery, 9 Narrows Road, Westminster.
