Hubbardston-Gerard “George” Ouellette, 85, of Hubbardston passed peacefully on December 2, 2021.
George was born in Greenville NH, the son of Antonio and Florence Ouellette. George leaves his partner of many years, Joyce Parmenter of Hubbardston; five siblings, Ronald Ouellette and his wife Theresa of Gardner, Annette Matusewicz and her husband Bill of Templeton, Lorraine Pavlosky of Hubbardston and Roger Ouellette and his wife Janice of Gilbertville. George also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Johnnie (Barton) Ouellette; his brother Norman and his parents.
George joined the Air Force in 1954 and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was employed as an upholsterer at a number of Gardner furniture factories, Conant Ball, Harrington & Richardson Firearms and he and his wife were co-owners of Hub Package Store in Hubbardston for 28 years. He was a member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus and the Gardner Gun and Rifle Club.
George loved his many motorcycles, vacationing in Bar Harbor, Maine, playing his harmonica and Yamaha organ, but his favorite pastime was listening to all types of music on his extensive audio system.
A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 10am, in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St. Winchendon. The family wishes to extend its sincerest gratitude to the entire staff at Heywood Hospital and Wachusett Manor for the kind and compassionate care they gave to George.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Associate, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
The Westminster Chapel of The Sawyer-Miller- Masciarelli Funeral Home, 123 Main St. Westminster has been entrusted with the care of George’s arrangements.
