Francis L. Piermarocchi

General Contractor

Graduate of Fitchburg High School

Proudly served in WWII from 1942 to 1946 in the 3rd Army 3rd Calvary attaining the rank of sergeant.

He founded the Francis L. Piermarocchi General Contractor Co. Inc. He employed many talented local area trades people. He built many industrial and residential buildings. Frank maintained an office and large construction yard on Airport Road.

Frank’s company was selected by industrialist George Wallace of Fitchburg Paper to build his office building designed by a renowned architectural firm. It was the most modern office building built in North Worcester County at that time.

Frank had a great working relationship with Samuel Foster, and for years kept a crew busy building and renovating the Complex of Foster Grant Co. in Leominster.

Other accomplishments include building Gotham Industries, one of the first McDonald’s in North Worcester County, the Registry of Motor Vehicles Building on John Fitchburg Highway, the Victory Market at Park Hill Plaza, Mt. Elam and Coachlace Nursing Homes, and the gymnasium at Julie Country Day School.

Frank was a proud member of the AGC – the American Association of General Contractors. He also served as Chairman of the Carpenters Local 48 Health & Welfare Fund for many years.

He leaves his beloved daughter Lela Piermarocchi Doherty, of Westminster, who cared for him and resided with him for the last eight years of his life. He also leaves his two nieces Judy Grossi and Carol Sackler and many grandchildren and great grandchildren on the Quinn side.

Frank is predeceased by his father Luigi and mother Igenia (Frattoni), his sisters Eva, Philomena, and Lydia, also by his wife Rita Piermarocchi, daughter Cynthia Piermarocchi and son Mathew Piermarocchi.

Frank’s funeral will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 10 Church St, Westminster, MA 01473.

Burial services will be private.

A calling hour will be held in the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 123 Main St. Westminster, MA 01473 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral mass.
