Ethel “Nikki” Tapply, lifelong resident of Lunenburg, MA and former resident of Kennebunk, ME, passed away on July 6, 2022, at the age of 90.
Nikki was born on February 7, 1932, in Fitchburg, MA, daughter of the late Frank P. and Jeannette B. (Vallee) Hartwell. She was the beloved wife of 52 years to the late William R. Tapply who died in 2002.
Nikki was an active member of the church in both communities in which she lived. She was a skilled piano and organ player and enjoyed many years sharing her love of music with the Montachusett Organ Society and the Community Chorus in Kennebunk, ME. Nikki was known for her beautiful flower gardens and talented ability to dry her flowers. Her love of this craft evolved into a small business creating exquisite arrangements and teaching classes at Pickety Place in Mason, NH. A winner of many recipe contests, Nikki loved spending time in the kitchen where her passion for cooking and creating divine family holiday meals was shared with her late husband, Bill.
Nikki is survived by her two daughters, Susan Ingraham of Milford, NH and Cynthia M. Letarte of Lunenburg, MA; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Ethel was predeceased by her daughter, Joyce J. Bingham; and her son, William R. Tapply Jr.
There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held.
