Fitchburg-Doris E. Harrington, 93, died Monday, May 4, 2020 at HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital after complications of COVID-19.
She was born in Holden on November 21, 1926 a daughter of the late William T. and Mary A. (Lombard) Harrington.
Doris leaves her sister, Irene C. (Harrington) Fredette and her husband Paul of Templeton.
She was a hardworking woman who had a great work ethic and was always a loyal worker. She was a kindhearted, selfless woman who was a peacemaker and focused on others and never missed a moment to compliment someone. Doris was a self-sufficient woman who supported herself and was careful with her finances. She was a longtime member of the Elm Street Community Church, where she was a member of the choir, and was always willing to be involved with church activities. Doris had an unshakeable Christian faith that was very important to her and she would never hesitate to speak about Jesus. She enjoyed sharing about her faith to others, she embodied the true fruit of the spirit in many ways. She loved singing and would often break out in a hymn at any given moment. She also was a member of the Fitchburg Senior Center and enjoyed going on their day trips. Doris loved going to the beach, nature and truly loved all kinds of animals. Doris is now reunited with her lifelong friend, Fannie Braks.
At Doris’s request funeral services will be private.
