Beatrice Ann (Bernard) Heffner, 86, a longtime resident of Lunenburg, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Beatrice was born in Amherst, MA on December 27, 1934, a daughter of the late Harry Merrel and Gertrude M. (Neal) Bernard. Bea was also predeceased by her son Raymond F. St. Armand.
Beatrice has had residence on lake Whalom since the age of eight. Always loving lake life.
Bea finished her working career at Cycles Incorporated retiring after 15 years at the age of 75. She enjoyed keeping busy, especially working on her house and flower garden. Bea loved to shop, yard sales and the beach. She loved spending quality time with her beloved family. Bea loved all holidays, especially Christmas, decorating her house for every occasion and hosting the entire family. Bea was truly the Matriarch of her family, the foundation, the rock that held everyone together. She will be sorely missed by all that loved her.
Beatrice will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Brenda J. Barbin and her husband Greg, Jacqueline T. Rosa, Randy J. Grosser and his wife Lena and Shelley A. Colecchi and her husband Kevin all of Lunenburg, MA; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Bernard and his wife Shirley of Apopka, FL; one sister, Alice Leeds and her late husband Gordon of Townsend, MA; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and son, Beatrice was predeceased by her two brothers, Henry Bernard and Albert Bernard and companion George Griffin with whom she shared many wonderful memories with in her later years.
Private family graveside services were held at North Cemetery in Lunenburg, MA.
The Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 763 Massachusetts Ave., Lunenburg was entrusted with the care of Beatrice's arrangements.
