Westminster-Janet M. (Espie) McDonald, 66, while surrounded by her loving family, went home to the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 12, 2011.
Janet leaves her husband of 46 years Roger L. McDonald, her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Rhonda McDonald, one grandson Benjamin McDonald and one granddaughter, Lindsey McDonald all of Westminster, one brother Tom Espie of Fitchburg and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her son Shawn McDonald in 1974 and her brother Richard Espie in 2001.
Janet was born in Fitchburg on February 24, 1945 a daughter of the late George Jr. and Marion (Parkhurst) Espie. She attended St. Johns grade school and is a 1963 graduate of Fitchburg High School. She also attended the Burbank School of Nursing. She and Roger married while she was in Nursing School. She worked for the Burbank Hospice and also worked as a Pharmacy Tech for the former Freedom Drug and then for the former Esper Drug. She especially enjoyed working as a Pharmacy Tech. She also loved being a mother and grandmother. Janet enjoyed traveling in there motor home and loved touring in their street rod with Roger. She was an avid animal lover especially Shelties.
Janet's family would like to say a very special thanks to Dr. Svend Bruun and his wonderful staff for the care and concern that they showed for Janet and Roger over the years, God Bless You All. And also a special thank you to the HealthAlliance Hospice for their care of Janet.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Heritage Bible Church, 182 Brooks Station Road, Princeton, MA 01541, Pastor Eric Hartlen will preside.
A Calling Hour will be held in the Church from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will be private in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Fitchburg.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Janet's name to the HealthAlliance Hospice, 25, Tucker Drive, Leominster, MA 01453.
